Jackson Runs Her Best at Princeton
05/02/08
Senior co-captain Beatrix Jackson was the only participant for the New York University women's track & field team on Friday at the Princeton University Elite Invitational in Princeton, NJ.
But, despite that fact and despite the unseasonable cool and windy conditions, the soon-to-be-graduated Jackson made it a performance to remember.
Competing in the 800 meters, the Amityville, NY, native ran a career-best 2:22.09 and finished eighth in the event.
With her career winding down, Jackson will probably compete one more time before calling it a career.
"Beatrix continues to produce a strong finish to her career," said NYU head coach Nick McDonough. "She's running PR's to the end and wants to break 2:20 before she's done."
Jackson should get that final opportunity at the Swarthmore Twilight Invitational on Monday, May 12.
